The Kerala Story Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah Blame ‘Elements’ In West Bengal For Threatening Cinema Owners Despite Court Order


The Kerala Story released two weeks back and proved to be a surprise blockbuster with amazing opening of 8 cr nett and 81 cr nett in week one followed by 171 cr nett after two weeks. Film is a rage in north and west India with tax free status boosting it further. Film demolished all new films and competition on 2nd Friday by clear margin. Now 3rd week holds the key in order to beat lifetime box office collections of The Kashmir Files as it set to cross 200 cr nett by tomorrow on 3rd Monday.

According to recent news, theater owners are getting threat calls from the police and administration regarding the screening of the film The Kerala Story in West Bengal. Despite the Supreme Court’s verdict in favor of the film, it is facing an illegal ban in West Bengal due to “threat calls” and pressure on theater owners from the administration. Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah spoke out against the ban, calling it a “blatant violation” of democracy and a “shameful” act.

Shah also claimed that theater owners want to show the film but are not allowed to do so due to threats from the police and administration. Making threats against theater owners is unacceptable and goes against the principles of democracy. It is important for authorities to ensure that people can exercise their right to freedom of expression without fear of retaliation. The film industry plays an important role in shaping public opinion and should be allowed to operate freely within the bounds of the law.

The Adah Sharma-starrer The Kerala Story centers around alleged religious indoctrination in Kerala and how Hindu and Christian women are being targeted by radical Islamic clerics. The movie claims that these women were converted to Islam and later sent to countries like Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria “to fight for the cause of Islam”. The Kerala Story is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. Adah Sharma and Yogita Bihani are lead in the film.
