Fast X Scores Big Day One In India With THIS Number, Poor Reviews Might Hurt Over Weekend


Fast X, the 10th installment in the Fast and Furious franchise, is revving up to lead global box office charts. The movie is projected to open to $60 million or more in North America and at least $220 million at the international box office. Box office predictions suggest that Fast X is set to achieve an opening return of approximately $235 million internationally across 81 markets and a further $60 million domestically.

If the film lives up to these predictions, it would rank the third highest in global franchise openings, behind 2017’s The Fate of the Furious in second place with $1.2 billion. . With a total estimated gross of $295 million globally, Fast X will rank third in terms of the franchise’s biggest openings, behind Furious 7’s $397.7 million and The Fate of the Furious’ $541.9 million. In India, Fast X earned 13.00 Cr India net on its first day for all languages.

The film is releasing on Thursday as compared to the Friday release, which means, the night shows might not be as strong as they would be for a conventional release. A Friday release would have ensured a bigger start for Fast X, as Hollywood films usually have a better opening on Fridays.

The film is expected to have a wide release in about 2200 cinemas across India, with an estimated screen count of 2,500. Fast X earned 13 Cr India net on its first day for all languages (early estimates). If Fast X lives up to its projections, it would rank as the third highest in global franchise openings, behind 2017’s The Fate of the Furious and 2015’s Furious 7.

Global Opening Of Fast X

Overall, Fast X is expected to perform well at the box office and could potentially become one of the highest-performing debuts for the franchise.
